Değerli Öğrencilerimiz, Uzun ve yorucu bir çalışmanın ardından Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi (ÖSYM) tarafından yapılan sınavları geçerek üniversitemiz öğrencisi olmaya hak kazandınız. Gazi Üniversitesi’nin yabancı dilde eğitim yapan (kısmen ya da tamamen) lisans programlarına ilk kez kaydını yaptırmış veya bir önceki akademik dönemde başarısız olmuş bütün öğrencilerin mevzuat gereği yeni ders yılı başında Yabancı Diller Yüksekokulu tarafından hazırlanan ve uygulanan Yabancı Dilde Yeterlik (Muafiyet) Sınavına girmesi gerekmektedir. Bu sınavda başarılı olan öğrenciler Yabancı Dil Hazırlık Programından muaf sayılarak bölümlerinde eğitim-öğretim faaliyetlerine başlarlar. Sınava katılmayanlar veya katıldığı halde başarılı olamayan kayıtlı oldukları programda eğitim-öğretim alma hakkı bulunan öğrencilerin yabancı dil hazırlık programını takip etmeleri zorunludur.

1. Tüm öğrencilerimizin sınavların olacağı sınıflar http://ydyo.gazi.edu.tr adresinden duyurulacaktır. Duyuruların dikkatle takip edilmesi rica olunur.

2. Muafiyet sınavı iki aşamadan oluşmaktadır. Birinci ve ikinci aşama 21 Ekim 2024’te yapılacaktır. Birinci aşamayı geçen öğrenciler için ikinci aşamaya gireceklerdir.

3. Muafiyetin ilk aşaması (21 Ekim 2024) İngilizce, Almanca, Arapça ve Fransızca dillerinden sınava girecek öğrenciler için 09:30’dur.

4. İkinci aşama (21 Ekim 2024) İngilizce, Almanca, Arapça ve Fransızca dillerinden sınava girecek öğrenciler için 14:00’dur.

5. Muafiyet sınavından başarısız olan öğrenciler, İngilizce Hazırlık Programına devam edecektir ve 22 Ekim 2024 tarihinde yapılacak olan Seviye Tespit Sınavına gireceklerdir. Sınav 09:30’da başlayacaktır. Öğrenciler, bu sınav sonucuna göre seviyelerine uygun sınıflara yerleştirileceklerdir.

6. Seviye Tespit Sınavı sonucunda B1 grubunda derslere başlayan öğrencilerimiz Güz Dönemi sonunda Güz Dönemi Yıl Sonu Sınavına (Final) girme hakkına sahip olacaklardır. Bu sınavdan başarılı olanlar Hazırlık eğitimini başarı ile tamamlamış sayılacaklardır. Sınavdan başarısız olan öğrenciler ise Bahar Döneminde Hazırlık eğitimine devam edeceklerdir.

HAZIRLIK MUAFİYET (YABANCI DİLDE YETERLİK) SINAVIYLA İLGİLİ BİLGİLER

(Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi, Mimarlık Fakültesi, Mühendislik Fakültesi, Tıp Fakültesi)

1. Sınavların tümü Gazi Üniversitesi Gölbaşı Yerleşkesinde yüz yüze olarak gerçekleşecektir. (Birinci ve İkinci aşama sınavının yapılacağı sınıflarla ilgili bilgiye http://ydyo.gazi.edu.tr adresinden ulaşılabilir.)

2. Sınavın birinci aşaması, tüm dillerde Okuma ve Dinleme bölümlerinden oluşmaktadır. İngilizce dilinden sınava girecek adaylar için sorulara ilişkin bilgiler şöyledir:

· Okuma Bölümü (Reading Comprehension): Bu bölüm 55 sorudan oluşmaktadır: 10 soru boşlukları metne göre tamamlama (cloze test), 5 soru cümleyi en iyi tamamlayan cümleyi seçme (choose the best option to complete the given sentence), 5 soru paragrafı en iyi tamamlayan cümleyi seçme (choose the best option to completethe given paragraph), 5 soru paragrafta anlamı bozan cümleyi bulma (find the irrelevant sentence), 30 soru metne göre verilen soruları cevaplama (answer the questions according to the text),

· Dinleme Bölümü (Listening Comprehension): Bu bölüm 25 sorudan oluşmaktadır: 5 farklı kısa konuşma (short conversation), 1 tane 5 sorudan oluşan konuşma (dialogue/conversation), 3 tane 5 sorudan oluşan uzun konuşma (long talk)

· Her soru 1.25 puandır.

3. Birinci aşamadan 59,5 ve üstü puan alan öğrenciler sınavın ikinci aşamasına girmeye hak kazanacaklardır. İngilizce Öğretmenliği ve Arapça Öğretmenliği programlarına kayıtlı öğrencilerin Hazırlık Muafiyet (Yabancı Dilde Yeterlik) Sınavında başarılı sayılmaları için sınavın her iki aşamasından da 84,5 puan ve üstü almaları gerekmektedir.

4. Sınavın ikinci aşaması, tüm dillerde Yazma ve Konuşma bölümlerinden oluşmaktadır. Her bölüm 50 puandır. İngilizce dilinden sınava girecek adaylar için sorulara ilişkin bilgiler şöyledir:

· Yazma Bölümü (Written Production): Verilen konuya ilişkin görüş belirten bir kompozisyon (essay) yazma. (Kelime sınırı 250-350)

· Konuşma Bölümü (Spoken Production): Konuşma bölümü, bir öğretim görevlisi bir öğrenci olacak şekilde soru-cevap şeklinde yürütülecektir.

5. Bu aşamada 59,5 ve üstü puan alan öğrenciler (İngilizce Öğretmenliği ve Arapça Öğretmenliği Programlarına kayıtlı öğrenciler hariç) başarılı sayılarak fakültelerinde eğitim almaya başlayacaktır. İngilizce Öğretmenliği ve Arapça Öğretmenliği programlarına kayıtlı öğrencilerin Hazırlık Muafiyet (Yabancı Dilde Yeterlik) Sınavında başarılı sayılmaları için sınavın her iki aşamasından da 84,5 puan ve üstü almaları gerekmektedir.

6. Sınava gelirken, yanınızda fotoğraflı kimlik belgesi (Nüfus cüzdanı, pasaport, sürücü belgesi, vs.) ve öğrenci kimliği veya kayıt sırasında aldığınız öğrenci belgesi olması gerekmektedir.

7.Yurt içinde veya dışındaki başka bir yükseköğretim kurumundan Gazi Üniversitesi’nin zorunlu Yabancı Dil Hazırlık Sınıfı olan lisans düzeyinde eğitim veren birimlerine yatay veya dikey geçiş yapan öğrencilerin, daha önce Yabancı Dil Hazırlık Eğitimi alıp almadıklarına bakılmaksızın, Gazi Üniversitesi Yabancı Diller Yüksekokulu'nun uygulayacağı Yabancı Dil Yeterlik Sınavında başarılı olmaları gerekmektedir.

COLLEGE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES INFORMATION ABOUT THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAM

(for Preparatory Programs)

Dear Students,

After a long and exhausting process, you have successfully passed the exams conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and earned the right to become students at our university. According to regulations, all students who have newly registered in the undergraduate programs of Gazi University that offer education in foreign languages (either partially or fully) or those who were unsuccessful in the previous academic term must take the Foreign Language Proficiency (Exemption) Exam at the beginning of the new academic year, prepared and administered by the College of Foreign Languages. Students who pass this exam will be exempt from the Foreign Language Preparatory Program and can begin their academic activities in their respective departments. Those who do not participate in the exam or fail to pass will be required to follow the foreign language preparatory program, even if they are entitled to receive education in their enrolled program.

1. The classrooms of the exams for all students will be announced on the website http://ydyo.gazi.edu.tr. Please follow the announcements carefully.

2. The exemption exam consists of two stages. The first stage will be held on October 21, 2024. For students who pass the first stage, the second stage will be held on October 21, 2024.

3. The first stage of the exemption exam (October 21, 2024) will begin at 09:30 for students taking the exam in English, German, Arabic, and French.

4. The second stage (October 21, 2024) will begin at 14:00 for students taking the exam in English, German, Arabic, and French.

5. Students who fail the exemption exam will continue in the English Preparatory Program and take the Placement Test on October 22, 2024, which will begin at 09:30. Based on the results of this exam, students will be placed into classes appropriate to their level.

6. Students who start their courses in the B1 group as a result of the Placement Test will be eligible to take the End-of-Term Exam (Final) at the end of the Fall Semester. Those who pass this exam will be considered to have successfully completed the preparatory education. Students who fail this exam will continue their preparatory education in the Spring Semester.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE PREPARATORY EXEMPTION (FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY) EXAM

(For Students of Gazi Faculty of Education, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine)

1. All exams will be conducted in person at Gazi University's Gölbaşı Campus. (Information about the classrooms where the first and second stages of the exam will take place can be found on the website http://ydyo.gazi.edu.tr.)

2. The first stage of the exam consists of Reading and Listening sections in all languages. The details for the English exam are as follows:

· Reading Comprehension: This section consists of 55 questions: 10 questions filling in the blanks according to the text (cloze test), 5 questions choosing the best option to complete the given sentence, 5 questions choosing the best option to complete the given paragraph, 5 questions finding the irrelevant sentence in a paragraph, and 30 questions answering questions according to the text.

· Listening Comprehension: This section consists of 25 questions: 5 questions based on different short conversations, 1 dialogue/conversation with 5 questions, and 3 long talks with 5 questions each.

· Each question is worth 1.25 points.

3. Students who score 59.5 or higher in the first stage will be eligible to take the second stage of the exam. Students enrolled in the English Language Teaching and Arabic Language Teaching programs must score 84.5 or higher in both stages to pass the Preparatory Exemption (Foreign Language Proficiency) Exam.

4. The second stage of the exam consists of Writing and Speaking sections in all languages. Each section is worth 50 points. The details for the English exam are as follows: · Written Production: Writing an essay expressing opinions on a given topic (word limit: 250-350 words).

· Spoken Production: The speaking section will be conducted in a question-and-answer format between a lecturer and a student.

5. Students who score 59.5 or higher in this stage (except for those enrolled in the English Language Teaching and Arabic Language Teaching programs) will be considered successful and can begin their studies in their faculties. Students in the English Language Teaching and Arabic Language Teaching programs must score 84.5 or higher in both stages to pass the Preparatory Exemption (Foreign Language Proficiency) Exam.

6. When coming to the exam, you must bring a photo ID (identity card, passport, driver's license, etc.) and a student ID or the student certificate you received during registration.

7. Students who have transferred to Gazi University's undergraduate programs with a compulsory Foreign Language Preparatory Class from another higher education institution, either domestically or abroad, must pass the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam administered by Gazi University College of Foreign Languages, regardless of whether they have previously received Foreign Language Preparatory Education.
