2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR APPLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSION TO ASSOCIATE AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

The application requirements for candidates wishing to study in the associate and undergraduate programs of our University at their own expense are outlined in the framework of the "Principles Regarding the Admission of Students from Abroad" announced on the website of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the legislation of our University regarding the admission of international / foreign students to associate and undergraduate programs.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

 Provided that they are in their senior year of high school or have already graduated;

1) Foreign nationals (provided they have not attended or graduated from a secondary school (high school) in Turkey [excluding foreign nationals who have completed their entire high school education at embassy schools or international private educational institutions listed in the MOBIS system, as well as foreign nationals who have come to our country under projects administered by the Ministry of National Education or the Council of Higher Education])

2) Those who were Turkish citizens by birth but lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission from the Ministry of the Interior to renounce it, as well as those who can document that they hold a Blue Card issued to individuals who have lost their Turkish citizenship upon request (provided they have not attended or graduated from secondary schools (high schools) in Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) (It is advisable for applicants applying for admission quotas from abroad to review Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901...)

3) Individuals who acquired Turkish citizenship through naturalization after holding foreign citizenship / dual citizens in this situation (provided they have not attended or graduated from secondary schools (high schools) in Turkey or the TRNC)

4) Turkish citizens who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed their entire secondary education [high school] at Turkish schools established under the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country other than the TRNC)

5)  Applications of TRNC nationals will be accepted (provided that they have neither attended nor graduated from high schools in Türkiye or from high schools in the TRNC that follow the Turkish curriculum) if they meet the criteria specified in the GCE AL, TR-YÖS, or the application and admission guidelines of higher education institutions approved by the Council of Higher Education.

 

EXAMS/DIPLOMAS ACCEPTED FOR APPLICATION

1- Applicants who completed their secondary education in countries where the TR-YÖS is administered must submit a TR-YÖS score report valid for two years when applying to the University. These applicants will be evaluated based on their TR-YÖS scores.

2- Applicants who completed their secondary education in countries where the TR-YÖS is not administered must apply using one of the national or international exams/diplomas listed in the attachment.

3- International exam results are valid for two years.

4- There is no validity period restriction for diplomas and medals earned in International Science Olympiads.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications must be submitted online through the Gazi University Student Information System (https://obs.gazi.edu.tr/oibs/foa_app/login.aspx) via the Office of Student Affairs, and applications submitted in person or by mail will not be accepted.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION

Candidates who hold one of the exams, diplomas, or medals specified in the regulations as the basis for the application and meeting the minimum requirements as stated must upload the following documents to the System online at the time of application, along with the official result certificates for these exams, diplomas, or medals:

1- Certified Copy of High School Diploma and Its Translation

Applicants must upload a “Certificate of Equivalency” to the system during the application process, which demonstrates that their high school diplomas are equivalent to those issued by Turkish high schools. This certificate can be obtained from the Turkish Ministry of National Education or the Turkish Embassy in their country. However, applicants who are unable to upload the certificate of equivalency to the system during the application process must submit it at the time of registration.

Applicants who have not yet received their high school diplomas must upload an official document (provisional graduation certificate) to the System indicating that they will graduate from their high schools by a specific date and their expected graduation grades.

2- Academic Transcript 

Applicants must upload to the System, at the time of application, an official academic transcript showing all courses taken and grades earned at the secondary education level (high school), along with a certified copy of its Turkish translation.

The submitted document must include a grade point average (GPA). Transcripts for which a GPA has not been calculated will not be considered.

3- Valid Exam Result Certificate

Applicants must upload to the System the official result certificate for the exams, diplomas, or medals specified in the application as accepted and meeting the minimum requirements. Applications from candidates whose exam results cannot be verified will not be accepted.

4. Passport

Applicants must upload the pages of their passport containing the photo and personal identification information to the System. Passports with at least 6 months remaining before expiration as of the application date will be accepted.

Applicants who are Turkish citizens and have completed their high school education abroad, as well as applicants holding a Blue Card, must upload to the System not only the photo ID pages of their passports but also the pages showing their dates of entry into and exit from Turkey.

5- Identification Document

-Applicants who hold a Blue Card must upload a photocopy of their Blue Card to the System.

-Individuals who acquired Turkish citizenship after holding a foreign nationality, as well as dual nationals in this situation, must upload a document proving their original nationality to the System.

6- Passport-Sized Photo

The photo uploaded to the system must be 4.5x6 cm in size, in color, and taken within the last 6 months, so that it clearly identifies the applicant and reflects their current appearance. Photos that do not meet these requirements will be considered invalid. If the applicant is accepted into the program, the uploaded photo will appear on their student ID card.

7- Bank Statement Confirming Payment of the Application and Exam Fee

During the application process, applicants must upload a bank statement to the application system showing that they have deposited 100 U.S. dollars (USD) as the “application and exam fee” into the account specified below. The receipt must be dated within the current period and must clearly display the student’s full name and our University’s IBAN number; receipts that do not contain this information or have missing details will not be accepted, and the application will not be considered.

If the applicant’s application fee is to be paid by another person, the applicant’s first and last name must be included in the description field of the payment receipt as follows: “(First Name) ... (Last Name)…..’s application and exam fee.”

EVALUATION AND ADMISSION

1-Applications are evaluated by the International Student Application, Evaluation, and Selection Committee.

2-The Committee conducts the evaluation based on the scores of eligible applicants, ranked from the highest to the lowest on a 100-point scale, taking into account their order of preference and country quotas.

3-In the event of a tie in scores, the candidate applying through TR-YÖS will be admitted; if there is a tie in TR-YÖS scores, the younger candidate will be admitted. If there is a tie in all criteria for the program to which the candidate is applying, admission will be determined by lottery.

4-Candidates applying to programs that admit students based on a special talent exam will be required to take the special talent exam administered for the relevant program. For these candidates to be admitted to the University, they must also pass the special talent exam.

5-The evaluation results are submitted to the Senate following approval by the Education Committee.

6-Applications submitted with incomplete, incorrect, or forged documents will not be considered. (Except for equivalency certificates)

ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS AND REGISTRATION

1- Information regarding evaluation results and registration procedures will be announced on the ÖİDB website.

2- Those eligible for registration will receive an International Student Admission Letter—containing a verification code and ID number—via the Student Information System, sent to the email addresses they provided during the application process.

3. Registration is completed on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar or on the dates and at the locations announced on the website of the Registrar’s Office (ÖİDB), either in person or through a representative authorized by a power of attorney issued by the Republic of Türkiye's Foreign Representations or by a notary public in the Republic of Türkiye. Registration by mail will not be accepted.

4. Applicants who fail to submit the required registration documents at the time of registration will not be registered.

5. Applicants who fail to complete their registration within the specified registration period are deemed to have waived their right to enroll and may not claim any acquired rights.

LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION

1- The Turkish language proficiency level of enrolled students is determined by the TÖMER Directorate before the start of the academic year.

2- Students placed in programs where the language of instruction is entirely a foreign language must have a B1 level of Turkish proficiency, while students placed in programs where the language of instruction is entirely or partially Turkish must have a C1 level of Turkish proficiency.

-Students admitted to a program where the language of instruction is entirely or partially Turkish must hold a C1-level Turkish proficiency certificate in order to begin their studies. Students who fail to submit a C1-level Turkish proficiency certificate within two years—for any reason other than those listed in Gazi University’s Guidelines on Justifiable and Valid Reasons—will have their registration canceled.

-Students enrolled in a program where the language of instruction is entirely a foreign language may begin their studies without presenting a Turkish proficiency certificate; however, they must demonstrate B1-level Turkish proficiency within two years. Students who fail to submit a B1-level Turkish proficiency certificate within two years—except for reasons listed in Gazi University’s Guidelines on Justifiable and Valid Reasons—will have their registration canceled.

3- Graduates of secondary education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Turkey and abroad, as well as secondary education institutions in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, must obtain a certificate of Turkish language proficiency from the TÖMER Directorate.

TUITION FEES

The annual tuition fees for the programs to which applicants will apply have not yet been determined and will be announced separately during the application and evaluation process.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND NOTES REGARDING APPLICATIONS

* For information on the international exams, diplomas, and awards required for application, please click on the “Guidelines for the Admission of International Students and Foreign Nationals Enrolling in Gazi University’s Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Programs at Their Own Expense”!

* The exam type selected and uploaded under the “Exams” tab during the application process will be considered for evaluation. Applicants will be evaluated based on a single exam document of their choice. Please remember to upload your exam result document (TR-YÖS, GCE A-Level, IB, ACT, SAT, etc.) to the “Exams” tab and enter your score correctly.

* Applicants may select up to three (3) different program preferences.

* Applications from applicants who completed their secondary education in the TRNC will be accepted online for the 2026 academic year after the GCE A-Level exam results are announced. These applicants must follow the announcements at https://ogris.gazi.edu.tr/.

* In previous years, there have sometimes been issues with email addresses ending in @hotmail, @msn, @outlook, etc. Therefore, if you do not receive the acceptance letter sent following the evaluation of your application, you must contact the Office of Student Affairs at internationalstudent@gazi.edu.tr.
